The island of New Providence, on which Nassau is located, often looses its identy and the whole island is often called Nassau. The city has a number of marinas but many sailboats anchor in the area marked as "Club Med" or in front of the various marinas.

Cruise ships bring thousands of visitors from all over the world to visit the island and play in the casinos.

For the boater, it is a reprovisioning stop before heading down to the Exumas.

The view entering the harbour is not a cruiser's dream. Large cruise ships fill the first docks.

On your left as you motor down to the marina area and past the first anchorage you will find Paradise Island with its casinos.

The "Straw Market" is a sight to see. Notice the large cruise ship in the background called "Enchantment"
